Take Two Minutes to Help Stop Climate Change

Don’t waste the environment

    Problem:

  • The amount of waste matter in the manufacture of a single laptop is close to four thousand times its weight.

  • Laptops contain a wide range of potentially hazardous chemicals. Although many of these compounds are not dangerous to you as a user (unless you eat your PC), they can still cause environmental problems if your computer isn't properly recycled. These can include substantial amounts of metals such as lead, aluminium, iron, copper, zinc, nickel and tin, as well as smaller amounts of metals such as germanium, gallium, beryllium, manganese, silver, cobalt, titanium, mercury and others
  • People who work in areas where the glass from computer monitors is being crushed must wear protective masks like the one seen here at the Atwater Prison Facility.

Migrant child from Hunan province sits atop one of countless piles of unrecyclable computer waste imported from around the world. Guiyu, China. December 2001.

    Solution!

  • The problems related to e-waste can be very severe as seen through the two examples listed above, so a solution is needed. Our solution is donate that old laptop and it will be refurbished and given to those who need it! You save the environment as well as enhance someone’s life!
