CompuCorps Mentoring, Inc. is developing
systems to manage technical volunteers over the internet, for virtual mentoring for youth on
overseas foreign aid projects and to provide a means for people living with disabilities to
volunteers over the internet and begin a transition to home based employment.
CompuCorps Mentoring, Inc. has been notified by the Minister
of Citizenship, Government of Ontario that they will provide funding for our $215,000 project
that will create a pilot in Ontario starting in the fall 2002 design of this service and to
serve 25 charitable projects with virtual volunteers.

Online Volunteering Management - using internet based tools to manage technical volunteers and
technical staff on nonprofit projects for charitable organizations would include: volunteer
technical assessment, project management, progress tracking, real time status for participants and
automated communication systems.
Why German foundations?
During a visit to Berlin, as part of a TEAM Canada delegation, CompuCorps met with a foundation
that expressed positive interest in getting involved in this project.
We want to propose for joint funding the concepts of an international, multilingual service
that could be available for charities around the world. There are seven million volunteers
in Canada and over ten million in Germany.
Technology and networking provides one of the greatest opportunities for nonprofits to increase
their effectiveness and efficiency. The nonprofit sector is being asked to operate in a more
efficient and accountable manner by their public, clients, funders and government. By better
management of computer volunteer projects with virtual volunteers we hope to expand the
resources available to voluntary service organizations.
Let us know if you are interested in getting involved, please e-mail to: info@compucorps.org
